Mount Road Metro delayed by a year

Mount Road Metro in Chennai, initially scheduled to be completed by March 2016, will now be ready by 2017 owing to lack of funds. In the Government Estate-Saidapet stretch, constructed by Gammon India and Russian firm OJSC Mosmetrostroy, only two tunnel boring machines stationed in the underbelly of Mount Road are operational of the four.
