New terminal building at Chandigarh airport delayed
The new terminal building at the Chandigarh airport is delayed by almost four to five months. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) is implementing the project which was initiated in November 2007 and the Planning Commission had set December 2010 as the deadline for the project. The new terminal will have a capacity to handle 500 passengers at a time. With
an estimated project cost of Rs 78 crore, the new terminal building will cover 12,150 sq m. The Punjab Government acq-uired 306 acre and 18 marla of land in Mohali for the project.
