The second phase for the modernisation of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai includes the construction of a metro link to improve access to the terminals, expansion of the new Terminal 2 (T2), a new taxiway and a tunnel under the runway for airside and vehicular movement. The total cost for these upgrades, to be completed between financial years 2016 and 2019 is pegged at Rs 1,600 crore, including interest cost and the pre-operative expense of Rs 341 crore.
