SWR thrust on infra and line

Special focus is given to improve infrastructure and line capacity on various sections of South Western Railway (SWR). During the current financial year (2015-16), a total of 76 km of new lines is targeted for completion and an equal (76 km) length of doublings is planned. During the year 2014-15, 140 km of track (51 km of new lines and 89 km of doubling) were targeted for completion. About 76 km of new line is targeted for completion during December 2015, February and March 2016, respectively.
