Satellite port at Vijaydurg or Dahanu

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has plans to build a satellite port at either Vijaydurg or Dahanu in Maharashtra. In the Rs 10,000 crore proposed project, JNPT and the Maharashtra Government will hold 75 per cent and 25 per cent stake, respectively. An internal feasibility study for the satellite port at both Vijaydurg and Dahanu has been completed and it was found that there is natural draught of 20 m enabling it to receive bigger ships.
