The Bellary Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has urged the South Western Railway’s Hubli division to lay a Railway line between Challakere-Niriyur-Sira and Tumkur to reduce the distance between Bellary and Bengaluru. BCCI also suggested the laying of a line between Kottur and Harihar and Harapanahalli and Harihar. A new line between Almatti-Kudalasangama-Koppal Railway line could be an alternative route because of its tourism/religious importance.
