Three airports to come up in north-eastern India
Three greenfield airports planned in the north-eastern states have been approved by the Civil Aviation Ministry.
Of these, construction worth Rs 264 crore has already started on the Pakyong airport in Sikkim. The other two will come up at Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh and Cheitu in Nagaland. The airport in Arunachal Pradesh is expected to be ready by March 2012. It will be implemented by the Airports Authority of India.
