Work on Mumbai coastal road may begin
The 35 km Mumbai coastal road project worth Rs 8,000 crore is likely to be fast-tracked. The work on the road project is expected to begin by December next year. The road will run from Nariman Point to Kandivli, and is aimed at easing the traffic congestion in western Mumbai. The coastal road project requires clearance from the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. The road work has various components that requires the construction of stilts on mangrove patches and reclamation of land.
