The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of Emami Cement by Nuvoco Vistas Corp, a part of the Nirma Group. The regulator said in a tweet that it has approved acquisition of 100 per cent of the total issued and paid up share capital of Emami Cement, on a fully diluted basis, by Nuvoco Vistas. There were questions on whether the deal would go through amid the COVID pandemic. However, as reported, both companies had earlier clarified in a joint statement that the proposed transaction was very much on.
