We are very positive about our growth rate in India

We have grown by 100 per cent in two years, says Kishore Sidhwani, Vice President, Chicago Pneumatic, as he expounds on the company's recent launches, in conversation with Shriyal Sethumadhavan.You have introduced a new range this year....Witnessing a shift from the normal diesel-engine driven compressors to mobile compressors with motors, we have introduced a wide range of electrical portable compressors, sourced from our factory in China. These are relatively maintenance free and much cheaper. We have also launched light towers sourced from our factory in the US. Also, we see the hydraulic segment growing, which has resulted to our range of hydraulic riveters, sourced from Sweden and Germany.Do you manufacture your products in India?Apart from the above mentioned, our compaction equipment comes from Bulgaria. In India, we have our manufacturing factories in Pune and Nashik.What are your energy efficient initiatives?All our products are configured to be energy efficient.Your take on the Indian infrastructure industry....Several projects are on paper and several announced and now in the pipeline. But, there does seem to be some sluggishness in the offtake of equipment, probably due to high interest rates and capital cost. But, I believe the industry will eventually grow, and we have to develop our infrastructure.What is your 'vision 2012'?We have seen the market share rise rapidly from zero and are very positive about our growth rate in India. Since our market share is not very large, even in a sluggish economy, we are not affected much.
