This 296 km long four-lane highway is announced as the country's safest four-lane expressway as it is based on Forgiving Roads (FR) aiming at minimising or avoiding the harm and consequences of traffic accidents.

FR forecast a road design that seeks to smoothly redirect motorists who go off the highways out of confusion over the exit ways.

The four-lane access controlled expressway is being constructed by Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development A Grade separated (UPEIDA).

Apco Infratech, Ashoka Buildcon, Gawar Construction, and Dilip Buildcon, the four private infrastructure majors, are executing the project. The Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats (ICT) is the authority engineer for the supervision of the expressway.

Chairman of Intercontinental Consultants KK Kapila said that the 5Es of safe road operations such as road engineering, enforcement, vehicular engineering, emergency, and education care would be catered fully.

Further, he added that the expressway would have the latest crash barriers, grade-separated junctions, and design of at-grade, proper traffic signage, road markings. Vehicular engineering will be provided with several protections. Reflective tapes would be put on heavy vehicles, and old heavy vehicles would be retrofitted.

For the safe operation of traffic and monitoring incident management, the policemen would be trained in accident data collection, first aid trauma care, and good samaritan law, Automated Traffic Management system (ATMs). In education, the effort would be to instil good road behaviour by awareness campaigns in schools.

As for emergency care, the roadside community would be trained on first aid pre-hospital trauma care to aid the accident victims within the golden hour.
