The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) plans the construction of housing projects on the lines of the Light House Project being constructed at Awadh Vihar Yojana.

Additionally, the affordable housing programme is slightly time-consuming, resilient and cost-effective.

Officials said that LDA had formed a committee that would look for areas under the LDA jurisdiction for developing the Light House Project. Moreover, the Authority will submit a detailed project report (DPR) to the state government.

Chief Engineer of LDA, Indu Shekhar Singh, said that the Authority had formed a committee to identify areas on lines of the Light House Project that are being implemented by the State Urban Development Agency in the Awadh Vihar Yojana.

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Light House Project that was being implemented in six metro cities of India, including Lucknow.

The Light House Project includes the construction of 1,040 flats for Rs 131 crore in Avadh Vihar Yojana across a 415 sq ft area.

According to the officials of the Housing Board, the construction cost of each Low Income Group (LIG) flat will be around Rs 12.59 lakh, from which Rs 4 lakh will be given by the government and Rs 1.39 lakh by the state government as a subsidy. The remaining amount is to be paid by the beneficiary in installments.
