01 Sep 2023

The inspection of Bengaluru Metro's purple line, specifically the stretch between Baiyappanahalli and KR Puram, by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) has been postponed. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has not yet provided a new inspection date.

Initially, the CMRS was slated to carry out the inspection on September 13, covering the East-West corridor of the purple line from Baiyappanahalli to KR Puram. The inspection itinerary included commencing at Benniganahalli station at 9:45 am, followed by a motor trolley journey to KR Puram at 11:45 am, with a focus on examining the open web girder bridge.

The inspection was planned to continue from Benniganahalli to Baiyappanahalli, incorporating a rolling stock assessment, and culminating in a light run to Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, around 6:30 pm.

Regrettably, no specific timing details were available for the inspection of the metro line spanning from Kengeri to Challaghatta.
