The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued a call for bids to design and construct a 1.189-kilometre creek bridge that will link the Murbe and Palghar districts in Maharashtra.
The MMRDA's proposed bridge project is organised as a performance-based, lump-sum turnkey contract. This contract encompasses all aspects of the bridge's development, including design, construction, procurement, testing, and commissioning. In addition, the selected contractor will be tasked with the development of access and approach roads both leading to and within the project site.
The MMRDA plans to complete the bridge within 48 months. The project is expected to enhance connectivity, boost economic activity, stimulate trade, reduce travel times, and promote regional development.
