DMRC to operate, maintain Mumbai Metro's Line 3

The Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro Line 3 is the first totally subterranean corridor in the city, and it was given to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd on Friday by the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC).

The DMRC was the lowest successful bidder in an international competitive bidding process, according to a release from the MMRC, and the contract was issued for a duration of 10 years. According to the press release, the DMRC will oversee managing the operation control centre, depot control centre, stations, running trains, maintaining trains and the entire metro system infrastructure, and assuring passenger safety.

They will be controlled by key performance indicators (KPIs) to guarantee Mumbaikars clean, effective, and hassle-free services, it said.

The announcement of the operation and maintenance contract was described in the statement as "a significant milestone for the MMRC in making the line operational.

According to the DMRC, which has successfully run and maintained the Delhi Metro for more than 20 years, India is a pioneer in the metro rail industry.
