Gujarat Chief Minister prioritises completion of project works

According to the sources, Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel will work for project completion and vitalising the bureaucracy.

He met PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday, wanting specific pointers from both to put in place a government that can face polls in the next few months, said the sources.

CM Patel has been given the task to deliver responsive governance and put the government in election mode. He was also tasked with vitalising the bureaucracy and making it more effective, especially after the crisis of slow delivery services during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gandhinagar civic body polls on 3rd October and two days of monsoon session in the upcoming week are the main focus areas of the government. Among all the projects, the most important to get more attention is the project at Nadabet, similar to the Wagah-Attari, desalination plants and the vast renewable energy park in Kutch.

According to the officials, the government will come into action in a few months. There will be several inaugurations as the government prioritises the completion of delayed projects and begins new ones.

The state government has reappointed the retired Indian Administrative Service IAS officer, K Kailashnathan, as the chief principal secretary of the CM, after organising the eight top bureaucrats within the state.
