On Monday, the Himachal Pradesh cabinet resolved to move forward with the process of acquiring land for the expansion of Kangra airport.
The government's goal of making Kangra the "tourism capital" of the state would be greatly advanced by the extension of the airport's runway, which will now be 3,010 metres long and adequate for the operation of A-320 aircraft.
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission would administer exams for those post codes for which the former Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission, Hamirpur, did not administer them, according to a decision made at a cabinet meeting presided over by chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
