In a significant address, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the need for an efficient multi-modal transport system in India. Speaking to a gathering of 213 probationers belonging to various Indian Railways services (2019, 2020, and 2021 batches) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, President Murmu underscored the importance of addressing rail, road, air, and water transportation collectively, rather than in isolation.
President Murmu highlighted the distinctive role of the Indian Railways, emphasizing that unlike any commercial organization, it serves as the social lifeline of the nation. Additionally, she pointed out that the railways carry the aspirations of ordinary citizens and simultaneously showcase the rich diversity of the nation through its extensive nationwide connectivity.
"The country needs an efficient multi-modal transport system for which rail, road, air, and water transportation should be dealt with in a holistic approach and not in isolation," President Murmu stressed during her address.
Her remarks resonated with the growing recognition of the need for an integrated and seamless transportation network that can cater to the diverse needs of India's vast and populous landscape. Such an approach would not only enhance efficiency but also contribute significantly to the nation's economic growth and development.
President Murmu's call for a holistic approach to transportation aligns with the broader vision of creating a robust and interconnected infrastructure system that can meet the evolving demands of a rapidly progressing nation.
