Karnataka seeks bids for floating solar project at Apannakere

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd (KREDL) has invited bids to install and commission a 1 MW floating solar power project with the associated transmission system at Apannakere Lake in the Kalaburgi district of Karnataka.

The successful bidder will also have to take care of the project’s operation and maintenance for 10 years.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 76.68 million ($968,214). The last date to submit the bids is October 19, 2022. Bids will be opened on October 21.

Bidders must submit Rs 1.15 million ($14,415) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must furnish an amount equivalent to 10% of 70% of the contract price as a performance bank guarantee within seven days of the issuance of the letter of award.

The successful bidder will also have to submit 10% of the 30% of the contract price as an O&M bank guarantee for ten years upon the completion and acceptance of the performance ratio test.

To be eligible, bidders should have designed, supplied, erected, and commissioned floating solar projects of a cumulative installed capacity of 1 MW, out of which at least one project must be of 800 kW or above higher capacity. The reference project must have been operating for at least 12 months before the bid submission date.
