Recent EPC orders in India and abroad have been won by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction's Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) Business.

Distribution utilities around the nation have implemented a number of modernization initiatives under the auspices of the Reforms-based Results-linked Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) to boost operational effectiveness and financial sustainability. An important goal of the programme is to significantly reduce aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses across all of India. To this end, the discoms improve the distribution infrastructure by segregating feeders, reconductoring, cabling, expanding line networks and components, geotagging assets, etc.

To build distribution infrastructure in two discom circles in western Rajasthan, the business has received orders.

The Company has received a contract for a power supply system for the second phase of the Chennai Metro. For the northern portions of Corridors 3 and 5, the scope comprises designing, providing, installing, and commissioning receiving substations (RSS), auxiliary substations (ASS), and a SCADA system.

The 110kV Gas Insulated Receiving Substations feed power to the traction and station needs by receiving incoming supplies from the Grid. Metro stations' auxiliary loads, such as lighting, ventilation, lifts, etc., are supplied by 33kV Auxiliary Substations that are connected by a 33kV cable system. Systems for related Control & Protection are likewise included within the scope.

Additionally, the PT&D Business has received a contract to supply, build, test, and commission a 132kV substation in the United Arab Emirates on the international market.
