During its 46th session, the Network Planning Group (NPG) headed by PM GatiShakti studied and recommended four infrastructure projects. Senior officials from important member ministries/departments, including the Department of Telecommunication (DoT), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; Ministry of Railways; Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways; Ministry of Civil Aviation; Ministry of Power; NITI Aayog; Ministry of Road Transport and Highways; Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas; and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, actively participated in the meeting.

The NPG reviewed and made recommendations on four Ministry of Railways projects during the conference. The initiatives are anticipated to boost connectivity between various locations and the nation's transportation infrastructure.

The NPG looked at a scheme by the Ministry of Railways to build a broad-gauge double line between Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan. Between Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur, the project extends for around 131 kilometres, and it is regarded as a key infrastructure project. By the time the project is finished, the line capacity should have increased to 71% (without a maintenance block) or 80% (with a maintenance block) by the years 2026–2027.

The main road linking Jaipur and its surroundings with Mumbai, the southern and eastern regions of India, and Swai Madhopur acts as a feeder to the Delhi-Mumbai route. In order to maintain traffic flow, the proposed project would assist relieve congestion in the current single line network.

Additionally, the National Planning Group (NPG) has assessed a project put forth by the Ministry of Railways for the building of a new broad-gauge line on the Northeastern Railway in the state of Uttar Pradesh from Anand Nagar Ghughuli via Maharajganj. The proposed project would be built as a Broad Gauge (BG) Line and would extend 53 kilometres from Anand Nagar. By offering a direct B G route to the project area, it is predicted that the project will boost regional economic growth.
