A Canadian autonomous trucking company, NuPort Robotics, announces its plans to set up operations in India with a mission to enhance safety on Indian roads.
NuPort’s technology delivers transportation solutions for heavy-duty commercial vehicles (CVs) by allowing next-generation automated vehicles to be more fuel-efficient and safer to work with an enhanced driver experience. NuPort is targeting the deployment of Level 2 autonomy which incorporates data analysis, advanced driver assistance systems, and driver suggestions—all of which cumulatively direct to safer and more efficient vehicle performance. NuPort Robotics has recently entered into a collaboration with World Trade Centre Pune (WTC Pune) to introduce NuPort technology to the Indian and global markets. WTC Pune will utilise its global reach to assist in strategic business development and collaborations to advance autonomous driving technologies in the market. NuPort plans to collaborate with prominent Indian manufacturers of electric trucks and buses to help its safety and sustainability goals and lead the nation toward deploying advanced technologies for transportation. CEO of NuPort Robotics Raghavender Sahdev told the media that the firm will enhance the road safety of heavy-duty commercial vehicles, and expansion of operations in India will lead to improving road safety for heavy-duty vehicles. The company will work with prominent manufacturers to deploy technology at scale in the nation.
