Tata Power’s TP Saurya signs solar project in Rajasthan

Tata Power Saurya (TP Saurya), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has recently signed a power purchase agreement with Tata Power Trading Company Ltd (TPTCL) to establish a 200 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. This collaboration contributes to TPREL's overall renewable energy capacity, which now stands at 6,788 MW. Currently, TPREL has an installed capacity of 3,917 MW, with 2,989 MW coming from solar energy and 928 MW from wind energy. Additionally, there are 2,871 MW under different stages of implementation.

According to Tata Power's regulatory filing, the solar plant is expected to be operational by March 2024. The power purchase agreement between TPTCL and TPSL spans a 25-year period, with the project estimated to generate 485 million units of energy annually.

TPTCL is actively engaged in power trading activities on exchanges such as the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) and the Power Exchange of India Limited (PXIL).
