Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), will invest Rs 6.12 billion in a 100 MW ground-mounted solar project for SJVN Limited (SJVN) in Gujarat.
SJVN is an Indian public sector company with interests in hydro, thermal, solar, wind, power transmission, and power trading. This is a collaboration between the Government of India and the State of Himachal Pradesh.
The project was granted through tariff-based competitive bidding after bids for the plot C of the Raghanesda solar park in Gujarat were invited earlier this year. Within 11 months of obtaining the letter of grant, the project will be given the go-ahead.
"TPSSL has commissioned several large scale solar ground-mounted projects in the country. TPSSL is a pioneer in curating customized strategic renewable projects and with this win its total portfolio will touch 9.9GWp. As on date, TPSSL’s total order book stands almost more than Rs 155 trillion," the company said in a press statement.
