Telangana seeks approval for Lakdikapul metro

01 Nov 2022

Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao asked Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, to approve Rs 840 million for BHEL's Lakdikapul metro project in Hyderabad. The metro project is a collaboration between the Union government and the state government of Telangana. KTR also requested that it be included in the upcoming Union budget. KTR went on to say that because Hyderabad is the fastest-growing metro city in terms of real estate growth, expanding public transportation infrastructure is critical.

Hyderabad is a fast-growing metropolitan city in terms of the real estate sector's quarterly and year-on-year growth, particularly in 2019-20. With the opening of all offices in the post-COVID-19 scenario, the need for the public transportation system to be expanded and strengthened cannot be overstated, according to KTR.
