Torrent Power announced that it has won a contract from NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) to deliver 920 MW of gas-based energy from its DGEN and SUGEN units.
The nodal agency for the procurement of up to 4,000 MW of power from gas-based plants during the defined crunch period (April 10, 2023 to May 16, 2023, with actual offtake for 21 days) had been named by the power ministry as NVVN. On March 10, 2023, the NVVN floated a tender for this.
Participating in the electronic reverse auction (eRA) that followed the e-tender, Torrent Power received 920 MW (770 MW from the DGEN plant and 150 MW from the SUGEN facility).
