Vedanta and Jindal Stainless to establish manufacturing parks

01 Dec 2022

Indian businesses entities Vedanta Aluminium and Jindal Stainless will build manufacturing parks close to their production facilities in Odisha, and Essar Capital. It will spend more than Rs. 500 billion in the region, the companies said in separate releases. The announcements were made at the Make In Odisha 2022 conference, which is now taking place.

Vedanta Aluminium, the largest producer of aluminium in India, would establish an aluminium park close to its primary smelter in Jharsuguda through a joint venture with the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corp. (IDCO).

Companies that use aluminium in their products can set up shop on the 253-acre park and draw molten aluminium from Vedanta's 1.75 million-tonne-per-year smelter. This will help these companies save energy by eliminating the need to remelt aluminium purchased as solid slabs or bars.
