Cement prices jump in January
01 Feb 2020
Cement producers have taken price hikes in January this year.
As reported, prices have increased by about Rs.10 per bag (3 per cent up from December 2019) in most parts of the country after declining by about Rs.30 per bag in the last six months of 2019. Sustenance of the recent price hikes will depend on how demand shapes up in the coming days. Cement volumes in November 2019 reportedly grew 4 per cent YoY, although for FY2020 (until November 30, 2019) volume growth was flat. Overall, reports suggest that the outlook for cement volume growth remains tepid for FY2020.
