Delayed monsoon pushes up cement prices

Stoking positive sentiments on cement counter and delayed monsoon is fuelling construction activities in the country. This has also led to a rise in cement in several pockets. In the first two mon-ths of the quarter, the industry posted a robust sales gro-wth of 9.6 per cent, and the momentum is likely to conti-nue in June. While Holcim-owned Ambuja Cements reported a rise of 7.3 per cent in its June sale; its sister concern, ACC posted merely a 2.6 per cent rise in sales for the month.
