Ultratech Cement plans Rs.15 bn capex in FY2021

India’s largest cement manufacturer Ultratech Cement has lined up investments of Rs.15 bn in FY2021 in multiple initiatives, said its Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla as reported. Further, the company is also reportedly targeting to increase its annual capacity to 118 mn tonne from 114.8 mn tonne currently.
This will include spends on installing 66 MW of waste heat recovery systems, 1.2 mn tonne per annum brownfield cement capacity addition in West Bengal and Bihar, pending work for Phase-2 of its Bara grinding unit in Uttar Pradesh, coal block development in Madhya Pradesh, new ready-mix concrete plants and other plants upkeep capex. The consolidated cement capacity will stand augmented to 118 mn tonne
per annum.
