JK Cement reports 62.25 per cent decline in net profit

The lockdown has had adverse effects on the operations and business of JK Cement. The company reported a 62.25 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs.499.4 mn for the first quarter that ended in June 2020. In a regulatory filing the company stated that it had a net profit of Rs.1,323 mn in the April-June period a year ago. Its revenue from operations declined to Rs.10,048.4 mn during the quarter under review as against Rs.13,939.2 mn in the year-ago period. JK Cement's total expenses fell to Rs.9,324.3 mn in the June quarter as against Rs.12,147.8 mn in the year-ago period.
