For a company with fame written into its name Pratibha Industries Ltd (PIL) has done very well for itself since its founding in 1982. The flagship company of the Mumbai-based Pratibha Group started its foray with the manufacturing of SFRC manhole covers and frames. In 1992, it decided to extend its presence in the civil construction industry and started participating in bids invited for such projects by government departments. The company took over Teknoworks (India), a Mumbai-based firm engaged in the manufacturing of mechanical equipment and structures, in 1995. Since then, PIL has graduated into a multifunctional construction and infrastructure development company offering services for complex and integrated water transmission, distribution projects, water treatment plants, elevated and underground reservoirs, mass housing projects, commercial complexes, pre-cast design, road construction and real estate. Over the years, it has witnessed rapid and consistent growth. Recently, it has bagged a Rs 205 crore water project in Jaipur from the Public Health Engineering Department.
The company's standalone revenue in 2012-2013 rose 23.91 per cent to Rs 2,340.92 crore while its net profit rose 38.34 per cent to Rs 278.25 crore from Rs 201.13 crore in the previous year.
