We will possibly witness 25-30 per cent growth in construction equipment year-on-year for the next four to five years, says Sharad Rastogi, Director, SSAB India, He shares more on the plans for Excon this year...

The benefit: Excon is definitely relevant to us. We supply special steel to construction and mining sectors. Most of our customers visit Excon, where we also discuss technical aspects and applications. We have had reasonably good footballs in the 2011 through to 2015 editions and good discussion with customers at the expo and at our stall.

Product launches: We have planned for an exciting product to be launched around the expo. It is a high-strength but wear resistant application product for sectors such as construction and mining. This product has excellent high-strength and wear-resistance properties.

Generating business: We hope to see some new customers, which has been the case in the past editions. There are always some new customers, some new applications are developed, some new contacts made are built up v so these benefits will definitely accrue to us.

Understanding customer requirements: The product we will launch has been developed looking at the market requirement. So, we keep meeting people and discussing their requirements with them. For the past decade, a lot of knowledge sharing, R&D and discussions have gone into the development of this product.
