World’s largest concrete paver from Wirtgen commissioned for Vadodara-Kim Expressway

The Wirtgen Slipform Paver SP 1600 – the world’s largest concrete slipform paver – was commissioned at Patel Infrastructure in February for the construction of the eight-lane Vadodara-Kim Expressway, a part of the Mumbai-New Delhi Expressway. The fully automatic slipform concrete paver has a full paving width of 18.75 m. It has the capacity to pave the entire width of 18.75 m at one go and there would be four such pavers working at the site.The multipurpose SP 1600 is capable of paving motorways across the full carriageway width, industrial sites, airport runways and taxiways or other airport areas in single-layer or dual-layer application. The Slipform Paver has a high degree of automation and offers a perfect surface finish.
