JLG develops new telehandler safety seat belt system

JLG has created an optional seat belt system which makes it essential to wear it. The option seatbelt is being offered on JLG 1255, 1055, 1043, 943, and 742. The seatbelt system comprises operator presence functionality and seatbelt engagement assurance, including the highly visible orange seatbelt. The system uses visual and audible alarms to ensure the operator is attentive. It would even restrict machine functions when the operator has not buckled up the seatbelt. 

The presence of operator functionality prevents engine start and hydraulic functions if an operator is not present.If the system identifies a loss of seat pressure throughout the operation it would engage and transmission parking brake in neutral.
