A relatively fledgling company, MBL Infrastructure, has made its presence felt nationwide and its client base includes reputed organisations like National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC), SAIL, MMRDA, central public works department (CPWD), and state PWDs. Their success is reflected in an impressive 26 per cent growth in standalone sales.
With an extensive presence across several states in the country, MBL Infrastructure focuses on highway construction, road maintenance, industrial infrastructure projects, and other civil engineering projects.
Since its inception in 1995, the company has expanded its client base which now includes reputed organisations like National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC), SAIL, MMRDA, Central Public Works Department (CPWD), and state PWDs.
In 1996, the company acquired Maheshwari Brothers, a partnership firm engaged in the business of trading in steel and waste management at steel plants. In 1999, the company was awarded the first batch of contracts for the north-south-east-west corridor projects by NHAI. In the same year, the company forayed into the road sector through the rehabilitation of the Sanauli-Gorakhpur road including Nautanwa Bye-Pass, a World Bank aided project of Uttar Pradesh PWD.
MBL owns a fleet of equipment, including sensor pavers, tandom rollers, soil compactors, stone crushers, tippers, loaders, excavators, motorgraders, dozers and cranes.
In January 2012, the firm bagged three housing projects worth Rs 126.12 crore from Madhya Pradesh Housing & Infrastructure Board. With these projects in its kitty, the company currently has six housing projects in execution totalling Rs 242.59 crore. In December 2011, the firm secured Rs 315.8 crore worth order across various segments, including road infrastructure, building infrastructure, rail infrastructure and urban infrastructure. This includes Rs 211.1 crore order from NHAI for the construction of approaches of rail-cum-road bridge across river Ganga at Digha Ghat near Patna, Bihar.
The company posted an impressive 26 per cent growth in standalone sales turnover to Rs 1,251.00 crore in 2011-12 from Rs 991.53 crore in the previous year. Its net profit rose 17.7 per cent to Rs 71.00 crore from Rs 60.32 crore in 2010-11.
