Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) is set to cut down its carbon footprint through use of green power under the Smart City projects. The city is expected to generate substantial solar energy, and the civic body is working towards making all government offices and other buildings energy-efficient with installation of rooftop solar panels in the first phase, subsequently adding over 5,000 households to the project.
Tumakuru Smart City (TSCL) has issued a tender for setting up and maintaining a 20 MW floating solar power project at the Bugudanahalli Reservoir in Tumakuru.
Shimla Smart City will have 2,000 to 2,500 parking spaces by early next year. Currently, besides small parking lots in most of the wards, at least five major parking lots are under active implementation, while detailed project reports (DPRs) of two other lots has been completed.
The Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed new guidelines for road repair and maintenance of the town area. According to the civic body, 18 roads, having 11.41 km length will be restructured and modernised in the first phase.
To solve waterlogging issues, Kochi Corporation has decided to bring in a detailed drainage plan for the city. The corporation also decided to use the fund for flood mitigation only based on scientific studies.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has completed the acquisition of 100 per cent stake of Dighi Port (DPL) for `7.05 bn. Reportedly APSEZ is planning to invest over Rs.100 bn to develop the port into a multi-cargo hub with world-class infrastructure.

After a sharp contraction of 14 to 17 per cent in FY21, cement production is likely to witness a growth of 18 to 20 per cent in FY22 and reach pre-COVID levels, according to investment information agency ICRA.

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam, a wholly-owned subsidiary of state-owned National Thermal Power Corp, has invited bids to develop 2 MW of grid-connected ground-mounted solar project at Agartala Airport in Tripura.
The West Bengal Power Development Corporation has issued a tender for the third time to develop 10 MW of grid-connected floating solar projects on ponds at the Sagardighi Thermal Power Project, Murshidabad, following poor responses to its previous retender.
The Military Engineering Services has floated a tender for a 1 MW ground-mounted solar power project at Hisar, Haryana. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.60 mn ($823,478). Interested bidders are expected to make an earnest money deposit of Rs.625,000.
