CCEA likely to consider Rs 2,500 cr worth Maha road projects

Two proposals of highways in Maharashtra are to be taken up by the Union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) very soon. The two proposed highways involve a cost of Rs 2,500 crore.

A source in the government said that the CCEA is likely to take up for discussion the four-laning of Solapur-Yedeshi section of National Highway No 211 in Maharashtra for final nod to the project, approved by Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC). The CCEA may also take up 6/8 laning of JNPT port road project of Mumbai JNPT Port Road for final nod, also approved by the PPPAC, the source said.

Sources in the Road Transport and Highways Ministry said that both the projects are scheduled to be completed on design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis on BOT toll made.
