The Union government has released Rs 180 crore to Andhra Pradesh during the last three financial years. The Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs stated that this grant is meant to be utilised to bridge the gaps in infrastructure in critical tribal areas and for improving the existing infrastructure.
They include construction of roads, bridges, creating education, health, irrigation and drinking water facilities , construction of Ekalavya Model Residential Schools, Ashram Schools and other tribal residential Schools, hostel accommodation for tribal students, providing laboratories, furnitures, sports infrastructures and implementation of Forest Right Act and awareness creation about the Act among forest dwelling Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers.
