Led by its Chairman Gautam Adani, the Adani Group has been making headlines for becoming the second-biggest airport operator in the country. The group has set in motion the process to take control of the Mumbai International Airport (MIAL). Adani Airport Holdings will procure an impressive interest in MIAL and also take on the debt of GVK Airport Developers. The Adani Group will eventually own 74 per cent stake in MIAL and around 55 per cent in the Navi Mumbai Airport project. From just a newbie in the aviation sector to becoming the second-biggest airport operator in the country, Adani has notably achieved all of this in less than two years! The group had earlier won concession agreements for six airports – Guwahati, Ahmedabad, Mangaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram.
