Breakthrough Achieved

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) led by its Managing Director, Anjum Parwez has achieved a major breakthrough, by completing tunnelling work through a length of 594 metres.  Using a tunnel boring machine (TBM) Varada the work was completed in stipulated time. Bengaluru Metro’s TBM Varada was launched in March 2021 at the Rashtriya Military School station in Vellara, and now it has reached Langford Town station. The contractors of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) have deployed 13 TBMs to work on the 13.76-km underground section, which is part of the Reach 6 line connecting Gottigere with Nagavara with a total length of about 21.5 km.
