Under the leadership of Sajjan Jindal, Managing Director, JSW Group, JSW Infrastructure – a part of the JSW Group –  recently completed the acquisition of Chettinad Group’s port business. This acquisition allows JSW Infrastructure ownership and operational control of a deep draft international coal terminal and a Bulk Terminal at Kamarajar Port (KPL) as well as Coal and Bulk Commodity terminal at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT). The acquired cargo terminals will include a 10 million tonne (mt) common user coal Handling terminal and a 2 mt multi-cargo terminal at Kamarajar Port. What’s more, the deal is likely to take the company closer to achieving the goal of building port capacity that can handle 200 mt of cargo by the year 2022.
