Budget 2020:Rs.220 bn outlay for power, renewable energy sector in FY2021

The government has proposed a Rs.220 bn outlay for renewables and power sector in 2020-21 for realising its goal of 24 x 7 electricity for all and providing freedom to consumers to choose service provider and tariff. Conventional electricity meters could be replaced with pre-paid smart meters.
