NTPC Ltd is planning to install 11 steam turbine generators (STGs ) of 660 MW each. Four of these STG units will be installed at its Mouda and Sholapur thermal power stations in Maharashtra and five STG packages will be procured for NTPC's joint ventures with the state utilities of Bihar (three) and Uttar Pradesh (two). Furthermore, two more units will be procured for Damodar Valley Corporation's proposed thermal power station at Raghunathpur. The total estimated value of the project is Rs 18,000 crore.
