APSPDCL to construct 23 substations in Chittoor

Andhra Pradesh’s Southern Power Distribution Company (SPDCL) is taking the initiative to provide uninterrupted power supply to Chittoor district, especially to the temple city of Tirupati. Running its operations from Tirupati covering five districts, it has got financial support from the World Bank to build 23 new electric substations in various locations, including in Tirupati. SPDCL officials have identified the sites to construct seven new substations in Tirupati at a cost of  `300 mn. In addition, APSPDCL is constructing one huge 132-kV substation to supply quality power to consumers in Tirupati.
