JSW to invest Rs.90 bn in two Karnataka wind projects

JSW Energy plans to invest Rs.88.6 bn to set up two wind power plants in Karnataka with a combined capacity of about 1,400 MW. The company has sought 3,150 acre of land from the state government for the two captive plants. The first project will require 1,350 acre spread across Ballari and Davangere district. The company will invest Rs.39 bn in this project, which will produce up to 600 MW. The second project will be spread across 1,800 acre in Ballari, Dharwad, Gadag, and Davangere districts, with the company investing Rs.49 bn to generate up to 800 MW wind power.
