NHPC, JKSPDC form JV for 850 MW Ratle hydroelectric project

NHPC has set up a JV company, Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation, with the Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC), for the execution of the 850-MW Ratle hydroelectric project. The JV company was incorporated on June 1, 2021, with NHPC and JKSPDC having an equity share of 51 per cent and 49 per cent, respectively. Ratle Hydroelectric Project is a Run of River Scheme built on River Chenab located in the Kishtwar district in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of Power has already sent an investment approval for 850 MW Ratle HE Project formation at an approximate Rs.52.8194 bn.
