In connection with the seaport project at Rayamapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, the district administration has proposed a mega industrial hub at Kavali to tap the industry-related resources. The port has been proposed in around 3,200 acre of land at Chevuru, Ravuru and there are huge vacant lands in the Kavali division. Officials have identified around 6,500 acre of land at Chennayapalem, Anemadugu, Thummalapenta, and other villages, close to the proposed port. The district administration informed the state government in July this year about the availability of the land and the plans for setting up a mega industrial hub in the area.
