Gorakhpur's light metro rail to go ahead as DPR approved

The Uttar Pradesh Government has cleared the Gorakhpur light metro project. This is a transport system with a capacity greater than light rail, but less than a heavy-rail rapid transit system. The project, which is expected to be completed by 2024, will span almost 28-km with two elevated corridors and 27 stations. The government has okayed the DPR of the project.
