India will have sound tunnel systems at strategic locations. Tunnel works worth over Rs.1 tn will be executed within the next five years to provide all-weather connectivity.
There is also a need to relax technical and financial bid parameters, including tunnels, to provide opportunity to small players. As reported, a policy will also be adopted for project consultancy management as faulty project reports had caused much damage to the highways sector.
